New Safety Measures in Place

We reorganized the Plymouth Encore yesterday, since we've just received a number of new colors. Some of the colors are the new neons, which have been really well received. The first day we got the Neon Pink in stock, a little girl chose it for a sweater before we even put it out on the shelf. The mom didn't love the color, but hey, she told her daughter she could pick her favorite color...
And, this week we've had a work crew outside on the sidewalk. We can't really tell what they're doing, because each time we look out the window, they aren't doing anything at all. Maybe they just get a lot of breaks?
But it got us thinking of our new neon colors, and how maybe these folks should at least be productive with all this sitting around. Certainly they could be making themselves some accessories for when the air turns colder?

This morning we arrived to find a single cone, but no work crew. So we sent one of our employees out to work safety patrol. We told her it's okay to stay in the shade, but absolutely NO sitting down on the job!
Reporting for duty
We didn't have the proper uniform for her, but we whipped up a quick safety sash (Plymouth Encore neons), badge (tape measure), and topped her off with an eyecatching hat (Manos Maxima).
We think she'll get noticed.

Get the Look

The mannequin's loving her look today! This vest is gorgeous and was really fun to knit. I wrote about it in this blog and the vest is now on display in the shop. Come on in and try it on!
It looks great when closed with a shawl pin, and the back is eye-catching with its spiral design.

Get the Look

So we're not going to talk about the fact that it was 70 degrees on Monday of this week. Instead, we'll focus on the cool temperatures that we KNOW will be back to stick around.

Do you have a "go-to" sweater in your wardrobe? One that you love to pull out as soon as the thermometer dips into the blue? One that you'd wear to a Homecoming football game, because it's warm enough to keep you cozy while tailgating, but also stylish enough to impress those friends you haven't seen in awhile? The Brea Sweater is definitely a "go-to" sweater.
Our mannequin is sporting the Brea Sweater this week and hoping for the mercury to return to normal. This sweater has gorgeous cable detailing on the sleeves and upper body, while the lower body flares ever so gently from the midsection. And she's topped off her look with one of our absolute favorite new shawls.
We just love the cable detail on this sweater, and the edge detail on the shawl.

Get the Look

This week, since all the talk is weather focused (thanks to a certain gal named "Sandy") our mannequin couldn't help but choose a gorgeous sweater made with Cirrus clouds, I mean, YARN.
Another view of this sweater from the Berroco booklet:

Our mannequin has topped off this great sweater with a scarf that is a favorite with every customer who walks in our door. We spend more time convincing our customers that this scarf is NOT woven than it takes for them to pick out yarn to make it for themselves.

What's Our Mannequin Wearing?

Brrrrrr! It's been nippy this past week! Our mannequin is thrilled to set aside the summery knits in favor of a more fall-like wardrobe. Stripes are in, and she's definitely in fashion with her striped sweater jacket. She's also showing off a new bag we've just received, and a warm scarf.

Bag: Della Q Clea Bag, coming to the website soon!

What's our mannequin wearing?

Well she's getting so excited for the Berroco Trunk Show that's coming up (October 6th from 1pm-5pm) that she broke out her new Berroco Hillside Cardigan. This smart looking v-neck is worked in reverse stockinette and fastens with a single over-sized button. To spice it up, she's thrown on the Elsa Lace Scarf, and has creatively fashioned it into a tiny cowl, or necklace.

Button: Find a fun one here! We would chose the Coco Square (1 & 3/8")

What's our mannequin wearing?

The oh-so popular Weekend Wrap! This super simple project has a shop favorite this summer. It whips up in no time with just a couple of skeins of yarn.  So simple – a rectangle with openings for the arms – you can wear this as a wrap, scarf, or vest!

Large needles and a beautifully textured yarn are a perfect match for this project.
Side/back view. LOVE this wrap!
