A gorgeous pair of hand knit mittens. Someone is going to have cold hands this week. Hope they work out often enough that they come back and find these still waiting for them!

I'm inspired to make my own now with SMC Juvel. It's so soft and the colors are so crisp. But I'll be sure not to lose track of mine!

Customer Project - Steeking!

Our customer Julie recently took the plunge and decided to learn how to steek a sweater.

Julie used Dale of Norway Baby Ull yarn to knit her The Bees' Knees child's sweater.  The pattern can be found in the New Stranded Colorwork: Techniques & Patterns for VibrantKnitwear book by Mary Scott Huff.

I love her color choice!

She did an amazing job with her colorwork and the steeking, and the colors she chose for this sweater are just superb. Congrats!

Now Julie's hooked on colorwork and steeking! Just after she came in the shop to share this project she stopped in again to pick out Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted colors for a women's fair-isle sweater. The next one is just for her :)

Nature Spun Fingering on Parade

We thought we would share this lovely customer project with you because it uses one of our favorite yarns for color work!  This fair-isle hat was knit using Brown Sheep Nature Spun Fingering yarn.

This yarn comes in 77 colors (and we sell all of them!) so the hardest thing about using this yarn is choosing the colors you want to use! We do have color cards available for this yarn which does make it easier for folks who use it again and again.

For those of you who doing color work in heavier weight yarns Nature Spun is also available in Sport, Worsted and Chunky weights.
